HRJC Invitational Race

Saturday, September 27, 2025

4th Annual HRJC Invitational presented by 1st Bank

The Highlands Ranch Junior Cycling Team invites you to the 4th annual HRJC Invitational Race for riders in 6th through 12th grade. The race will take place the morning of Saturday, September 27th from Rocky Heights Middle School (11033 Monarch Boulevard, Lone Tree, CO 80124).

In past years the Invitational has been open to all middle school riders and high school riders who had not qualified for the Colorado High School League State Championships. For 2025, the race will now feature two divisions for high school riders in each category- Category 1 for riders who anticipate qualifying for State; and Category 2 for riders who don't think they will qualify for State, high school girls who usually finish outside the top 5 of their Colorado League regional races, as well as riders who aren't participating in the Colorado League races. Racers can switch categories up until Wednesday, September 24th. Categories will start together but be separated in the results and awards.

Equipment

Any "mountain bike" can be used in this race. No gravel, cyclocross, "hybrid," BMX, road, or e-bikes will be allowed. Please make sure your bike is in good working order for this race. For any last minute issues, BikeSource will be on site to provide neutral mechanic support to all riders if needed.

Parking and Spectating

Parking for the race is available at Rocky Heights Middle School or Rock Canyon High School on race morning.

Spectating is best at the Start / Finish area or by driving (or riding) 1.5 miles south of the middle school on Monarch Blvd to the Backcountry Wilderness Area Trailhead parking on the left side of the road. From there, walk back north 300 meters on the trail to the gate where the riders enter the Wildcat trail system and start and finish each loop.

School teams are encouraged to bring their own team tents and set them up near the start line.

Restrooms are available near the middle school parking lot next to the gate to the soccer fields.

Volunteers

If you are looking for volunteer hours for your team or school program, please reach out to Coach Scott to find out how you can help with the Invitational race. HRJC is a non-profit organization, but volunteering at the HRJC Invitational does not count toward Colorado League volunteer hours.

Medical

This race will be supported by Event Medical Specialists for on-site medical care.
